This 1962 Session for Columbia co-lead by Ben Webster and Harry “Sweets” Edison is a true gem. All 6 tracks are fully transcribed. George Duvivier especially shines on the first track ‘Better Go’ with outstanding bebop licks in his solo (his only one of the album, sadly). Teamed with Hank Jones on piano and Clarence Johnston on drums, the rhythm section lays down a great swing feel from start to finish. Highly recommended for any bass player looking to cement a solid foundation in his walking lines.
