7 of 8 tracks fully transcribed (one track is solo piano) from the 1955 album Thelonious Monk Plays Duke Ellington. Kenny Clarke’s drumming and Monk’s use of space allows for great access to the nuances of Pettiford’s playing.
Monk can be a bit heavy left-handed at times which made some passages difficult to transcribe (primarily the intro to Mood Indigo). Still this is great record to play along to and understand the feel of the greatest bop bassist that ever lived.
