Paul Chambers was just barely 21 when he recorded this 1956 album with other Detroit natives Kenny Burrell, Tommy Flanagan and Pepper Adams (drummer Kenny Clarke hails from Pittsburgh, coincidentally where PC was born). Most if not all of these players had been living in New York City at the time of the recording and representing the midwest sound of jazz. The whole album only plays about 33 minutes, but there are great bass lines and solo ideas to be gained from this record. I had some issues getting close to 100% accuracy with Cotton Tail due to tempo, audio quality and some intonation issues, but nonetheless bass players will enjoy playing along with such a formidable rhythm section. PC solos on all but one track (including a bass solo), albeit mostly one or two choruses total like everyone else on the date.

*Note: I included time stamps for each individual track as well as the running total of the whole album as this particular record may be difficult to find but there is a Full Album available on YouTube should the customer choose to use that format instead.

Some other recordings with musicians that I was lucky enough to record with over the years.
