Percy Heath lays drown great lines along side drummer Elvin Jones and Pianists Thelonious Monk and Horace Silver. One can learn the trait of ‘consistency’ very well from this album - a trait many professional jazz musicians expect out of a great bassist. The quarter note is solid and note choices are on point. There are no solos, but the bass lines are ever enjoyable nonetheless. I hope you enjoy playing along to this record.
